No. 4 UConn Emerges as Heavy Favorite

Following its rout of No. 3 Gonzaga in the Elite Eight on Saturday, No. 4 UConn is the heavy favorite to win its third national title in the last 13 years.

The Huskies (29-8) are the closest they’ve been to going all the way since their championship run in 2014, and DraftKings, FanDuel and Caesars all have UConn at -125 odds to beat out Florida Atlantic, San Diego State and Miami, who are each making their first appearance in the Final Four.

First the Huskies will have to get through the fifth-seeded Hurricanes (29-7), who pulled off an 88-81 victory over No. 2 seed Texas on Sunday. Miami enters Saturday’s matchup with UConn as 5.5-point underdogs on DraftKings and FanDuel. However, Caesars has the Hurricanes at +5.0.

Caesars (+460), DraftKings (+475) and FanDuel (+490) all have Miami with the third-best odds to win its first national title. The fifth-seeded Aztecs (31-6) have the second-best odds on all three books, sitting at +360 on FanDuel, +380 on DraftKings and +400 on Caesars.

San Diego State is the slight favorite in its meeting with the ninth-seeded Owls (35-3), who have assumed the role of a Cinderella team in this year’s NCAA Tournament. FAU narrowly escaped No. 8 Memphis in the first round before knocking off No. 16 seed Fairleigh Dickinson, which was coming off a historic upset of No. 1 seed Purdue.

The Owls then earned victories over fourth-seeded Tennessee and third-seeded Kansas State to set up Saturday’s contest, where the Aztecs are 1.5-point favorites on FanDuel and Caesars and two-point favorites over at DraftKings.

FAU would be the most surprising team to be crowned champion, as FanDuel and Caesars have the Owls at +600 to win it all. DraftKings has them at +650.
